Chronological
Many topics can be approached from a time perspective - you start at the beginning and finish at the end. This is particularly appropriate if you are doing an informative presentation on something historical or the history of some thing. For instance, a chronological outline would work well for a presentation on World War II. You could start with the lead up to the war and finish with the post-war situation. But you could also use a chronological approach for something like the topic of modern rock music. You could start with the beginnings of rock music and detail how it progressed as time went on.
