Regarding need, you want to talk about a need that’s specific to the audience you’re talking to. If your presentation is about a failing elderly-care system and you’re talking to teenagers, they might not care since it’s going to be 60 years or so before they’re ‘elderly’. So phrase it in terms of something more significant to them - point out that in as little as 10 or 15 years they might have to support their own parents financially if the system fails. Their parents might even have to move back in with them!
