Acrostic
The first letter of each line of an acrostic poem spells out a word vertically, which often has significance with respect to the content of the poem. A very simple example of an acrostic poem would be:
Streams starting to melt
People leaving the house
Rain in the sunshine
In the mornings the flowers bloom
No more snow
Great days ahead
