Interrogative sentences by tone
Although it’s hard to do on paper, when you’re talking you turn a declarative sentence into an interrogative one by changing your tone, usually by raising your tone at the end of the sentence. For instance, take a simple statement like this:
She was lying.
By raising your voice at the end of the sentence you can make it into a question without changing any of the words. On paper, it’s hard to show this:
