Physical exercise
One of the best breaks you can possibly take from something like writing is some sort of physical exercise. Now, this can be just about anything, it’s not restricted to normal things like running, riding, or swimming. Go hit a tennis ball for a bit, or kick a footy around in the park. Get a skipping rope and skip for 15 minutes. Just go for a walk. Go beat up a punching bag. Do some push-ups or sit-ups or stomach crunches. Juggle some balls! Anything that will get you moving a little bit. It doesn’t have to be too strenuous, just enough to get the blood racing. Try to forget about your work for a little while too by clearing it completely from your mind. However, don’t do something silly like go for a 30 km run - you want to get the blood racing but not exhaust yourself!
